Your Body Is Ready

For The Mountain.

Is Your Mind?

Mountain athletes who are physically fit and prepared for their goal but lack the mindset to trust themselves when conditions shift, decisions get critical, and doubt takes hold. Let's change that.

Peak Performance is an 8-week mindset program built to give mountain athletes the mental tools to match their physical strength so when the mountain tests you, you're ready.

WHAT THIS IS

You've trained your body, honed your technical skills, and prepared for every scenario. But physical readiness is only half the equation. This program gives you the other half: practical, climbing-specific mental tools grounded in sports psychology and performance science.

In 8 weeks, you'll learn to:

Make fear your ally instead of your obstacle

Build confidence from within not from waiting until you feel "ready"

Stay focused and make clear decisions in high-stakes moments

Recover quickly from setbacks and channel stress into action

Trust yourself and your abilities without constant external validation

Show up fully for yourself and your team

Lisa Thompson

MOUNTAIN ATHLETE · AUTHOR · COACH

Lisa Thompson is the second American woman to summit K2, the world's second-highest peak and one of the most technically demanding climbs on Earth. She has spent years working directly with mountain athletes, observing the mental patterns that separate those who reach their goals from those who don't.

That experience is what built Peak Performance. Lisa didn't create this program from theory; she built it from firsthand observation of what mental barriers actually show up in athletes and what tools reliably help overcome them.

She is also the author of Finding Elevation and a coach at Alpine Athletics, where she has worked with climbers from first alpine peaks to 8,000-meter expeditions.

  • A: Perfect. Every exercise has beginner and advanced options. These mental skills (decision-making, fear management, focus training) apply whether you're working toward your first alpine peak or your tenth 8,000m summit. If you're experiencing mental barriers in climbing at any level, this program is for you.

  • You receive immediate access to all 8 weeks of content when you enroll. We strongly recommend following the weekly structure, as each week builds on the previous one, but you have full access from day one.

  • Plan for 30–45 minutes per week to complete the lessons and exercises. Many practices integrate into your existing routine, visualization during your commute, breathing techniques before climbs, and Grit Log entries after training. If you have time to train your body, you have time to train your mind.

  • Lifetime access to all program materials. You can revisit the content and tools whenever you need them before a big objective, after a difficult season, or anytime you want to sharpen your mental game.

  • No. This is performance-focused mindset training for mountain athletes. We focus on building mental skills for climbing, managing fear, making decisions under pressure, and accessing flow state, not treating mental health conditions. If you need therapeutic support, we encourage you to work with a licensed professional. This program complements therapy but is not a replacement.

  • The program is delivered through Mighty Networks, a private online platform with video lessons, downloadable PDF worksheets, and a supportive community of mountain athletes. Accessible via web browser or the Mighty Networks mobile app (iOS and Android).

  • You have access to the Mighty Networks community where you can ask questions, share experiences, and connect with other mountain athletes. You can also email hello@alpineathletics.net with questions (24–48 hour response time).
